Hurricane Melissa was a category 5 hurricane with 185 mile per hour winds. It hit Jamaica on Oct. 28, 2025. There were 45 confirmed deaths according to the Center for Disaster Philanthropy, although some reports and original interviews cite even more deaths. 90,000 people were displaced by the storm across the Caribbean.
